Recoaro Terme in Italy (in the Veneto region) is a small ski resort with just 4 ski lifts ( 1 gondola, 2 chair lifts, 1 surface lift) but it does boast a very impressive 700 metres (2296 feet) of vertical descent. Recoaro Terme has 8 pistes. Recoaro Terme is best suited to beginner skiers and snowboarders but there is some terrain for intermediates but little of interest for expert skiers. Cross country ski trails can be found Recoaro Terme. The nearest airport is at Venice and the nearest train station to Recoaro Terme is at Schio.

Visited Recoaro Terme in the fall of 2008 to find my grandfathers home town of Fiori which is just three miles north of Recoaro Terme. My grandpa & his family left this area in 1912 & came to America. From Ellis island they moved west & eventually settled in central Illinios, in a town named Staunton. I was the first one of my family to return in almost a 100 yrs. The town & people of Recoaro Terme are great. I only had a few hours to spend in town because of travel time restraints. The ride up to the village of Fiori is quite an adventure, almost all three miles are one lane roads or very narrow, to say the least. I will return in 2010 with my wife & two children to spend more time in this entire area.
